Elizabeth Scala

Elizabeth Scala of the University of Texas-Austin presents a lecture on "Feminism and the F-Word." Professor Scala is an editor of the journal Exemplaria: Medieval / Early Modern / Theory, the co-editor of the collection The Post-Historical Middle Ages (Palgrave Macmillan, 2009) and the author of the books Absent Narratives, Manuscript Textuality, and Literary Structure in Late Medieval England (Palgrave 2002) and Desire in the Canterbury Tales (just published by Ohio State University Press).

Introduction to Adobe InDesign

Familiarize yourself with the basics of Adobe’s versatile print and digital document design application, for use in presentations, posters reports and more. Attendees receive an overview of file setup, familiarize themselves with its menu and tools, add and edit text, graphics and other design elements, and output their creation to an appropriate file format. This workshop is presented by the GW Libraries' Exhibits Developer Phil Raino.

Intro to 3-D Modeling with Tinkercad

Get started using Tinkercad; the free, browser-based CAD software. You will learn how to create 3-D models from scratch and altering existing models. Once created, we will import our models into Makerbot Desktop, the software that drives our 3D printers. Chromebooks will be available to use Tinkercad. If you would like to be able to use MakerBot Desktop, please bring your own PC or Mac. Please RSVP.

Digital Humanities Showcase 2015

We invite members of the GW community to join the second annual DH Showcase at Gelman Library. Each person (or team) will present a DH project or endeavor (in any stage of its production).
